There are numerous methods for earning Gil in FFXIV, with crafting and gathering being among the fastest and most reliable methods, while combat-oriented approaches also exist. Players can earn Gil by participating in Treasure Maps and selling items on the Market Board; however, these methods can be risky and are not advised for beginners.

Crafting

Final Fantasy 14 offers many methods of earning ffxiv gil, from main story and job quests, raid or dungeon gear and purchasing glamorous items, to main quests that yield more Gil than expected. However, these aren’t always reliable sources and require effort in order to be effective.

Crafting and gathering materials are two effective strategies for earning Gil. New content often introduces weapons or furniture that you can craft, gather or sell; those who act quickly can earn considerable Gil in this manner. Furthermore, keeping up-to-date with crafting and gathering classes is ideal to maximize profit; selling to players who are searching for specific gear or materials could bring in considerable Gil income.

Gathering

Gil in Final Fantasy XIV can be earned through crafting and gathering. While combat jobs offer their own ways of earning Gil, most often the most efficient ways are non-combat skills like Gatherer or Miner which provide consistent methods.

Gatherer Jobs offer more than crafting items; in addition to farming certain low-tier materials which sell well on the Market Board (such as linen yarn and undyed flat flannels). Eureka Dungeons and FATEs also present plenty of opportunities for Gil production. On the downside, many items cost money to acquire. Teleporting and purchasing crafting ingredients will quickly deplete a player’s wallet.

Houses

House ownership and maintenance can be an excellent way of making passive income in-game. By renting out rooms to other players and participating in treasure hunt parties that award Gil, house ownership and maintenance can become a rewarding source of cash flow.

Other than the main story, guildleves, Free Company quests, and dungeons in Final Fantasy XIV, there are various methods for earning Gil. Gil drops from enemies, can be found in chests, or can even be earned through selling equipment, Materia and items.  Remember, players’ time is money. Wasting hours on end grinding for small amounts of currency will only lead to frustration and burnout; one reason RMT buyers tend to be seen negatively by many in society.

Map Parties

One of the easiest and most reliable ways to earn Gil is through class quests. Items needed to complete these can fetch millions in Gil when sold on the market board.

Treasure map parties offer another effective means of earning Gil and loot. Players can make additional profit from selling items that fall from these dungeons.

Retainer Ventures

Retainers are special units available once players complete the ‘Scions of the Seventh Dawn’ main scenario quest and reach level 17. Once deployed, retainers can be sent on “Venture” missions that reward experience points and Gil.

Ventures require their own currency known as venture currency, which can be obtained either by exchanging Grand Company seals with vendors of Beast Tribe or purchasing retainers to undertake various ventures such as Quick Exploration.

Quick exploration missions may yield items like taffeta cloth and light steel plate, both highly sought-after crafting materials that can be sold to other players at considerable profits.

Selling Items on the Market Board

Gathering classes who don’t wish to spend all their time farming timed nodes may find selling items on the Market Board an easy and quick way to make millions in no time at all. This method works particularly well at the start of each patch as many players don’t yet understand which materials are available or their prices, making selling easier than ever!

Players need the Venture currency, easily obtained through Beast Tribe quests and levemes, in order to trade items on the market and deposit gil into their retainer – one of the most reliable means of earning Gil.
